The company had been dropping prepared parts into corrugated boxes via chutes on the molding machines. \u201cWe were manually changing boxes as they were filled and had to do a weigh-check on each box, using a variety of check weighing machines. If we didn\u2019t manually move a box off the line fast enough, parts would back up into the chute and the drop zone.  Production got clogged, resulting in downtime\u201d said Jay Bray, Lindal molding engineer.   Solution Bray learned about modular \u201cDynaCon\u201d box filling systems and the start-stop flexibility and reliability of the DynaCon conveyors.  Dynamic Conveyor sent a representative to the plant to assess Lindal\u2019s parts handling equipment requirements. After discussions, Lindal North America installed DynaCon indexing conveyors with quick stop-start and reverse-drive capabilities.  Results Bray says, \u201cThe indexing DynaCon conveyors allow us important \u2018cushion\u2019 time. They give our people more operating flexibility. They give us a larger time window\u2014it was about 7 minutes and now it\u2019s about 28 minutes\u2014to perform other surrounding tasks without having to go back and \u2018balance\u2019 box component-count quantities later.
