Position: Buyer – Purchasing Lead
FLSA: Full Time

General Summary:

The Buyer plays an integral role in purchasing materials and components to support the Company’s
manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for developing, managing, and executing upon
purchasing strategies to support the Companies overall inventory management plan and shipping

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for identifying and managing Company vendor / supplier relationships.
2. Negotiates strategic purchasing contracts and vendor stocking agreements.
3. Negotiates pricing and delivery of materials / components.
4. Ensures timely delivery and quality of all incoming materials / components.
5. Projects inventory needs including min / max requirements for standard components based on
sales forecasts, historical usage, and lead times.
6. Responsible for Return to Vendor (non-conforming material) program.
7. Responsible for development of standards and maintenance of Purchasing MRP data in ERP
8. Creation and maintenance of Purchase Order system, including confirmations and follow-up.
9. Performs other duties as assigned by the Production Manager and assists other employees of
the company whenever possible.

Preferred Skillset & Experience:

1. Associate degree in Business, Management or equivalent.
2. Five plus years of purchasing experience in a make to order/engineering environment.
3. Strong understanding and ability to leverage ERP / MRP system for purchasing.
4. Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite
5. Self-directed with the ability to organize and follow through on work assignments/duties.
6. Quality control mindset with the ability to monitor all work for accuracy.
7. Ability to communicate effectively and provide assistance to internal and external customers.
8. Relationship oriented with the ability to properly manage and strengthen key vendor
