POSITION: Shipping Support Clerk
FLSA: Full Time, Hourly; Monday – Friday; 1st Shift
Compressed 9/80 Schedule – approx. every-other Friday off
The Shipping Support Clerk will play a key role in supporting the shipping operations, including the assembly, packing, and documentation of outgoing shipments. This position will also support receiving tasks such as unloading, inspecting, and distributing incoming materials, ensuring that materials flow smoothly through both shipping and receiving functions. The role requires the ability to manage multiple tasks, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Shipping Support: Assist the Shipping Coordinator in assembling, inspecting, and packaging products for outbound shipments.
- Prepare and process shipping documents (labels, invoices, etc.) for both domestic and international orders.
- Ensure timely and accurate shipping of products by helping maintain shipping schedules and tracking information.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of shipping materials, including boxes, labels, and packing materials.
- Operate forklifts and material handling equipment to move products and materials as needed.
- Help maintain organized records for both incoming and outgoing materials, including tracking discrepancies and coordinating with relevant departments when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment according to company safety standards and protocols.
- Receiving Support: Assist the Receiving Specialist by inspecting incoming materials, verifying quantities and quality, and ensuring proper storage of goods (as needed).
- Work in Assembly to assist with building belts and conveyor components (as needed).
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor and assist with departmental tasks whenever necessary.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- One to two years of experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software (FedEx Ship Manager, UPS WorldShip, DHL) is preferred.
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. safely.
- Basic computer skills required, including proficiency with spreadsheets and email programs.
- Forklift operation skills preferred.
- Ability to use hand tools and other equipment related to the assembly of shipments.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all shipping and receiving tasks.
- Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with internal teams (Shipping, Receiving,
Production). - Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and a quality control mindset.
