Solving Packaging Bottlenecks with a DynaClean Vertical Z Conveyor

The Company

Troy Industrial Solutions is a reseller that specializes in electromechanical maintenance, repair, and operations support services and caters to various industries, including cement, chemical, construction, food and general manufacturing. As a premier service provider for industrial equipment, Troy called on Dynamic Conveyor to assist with a recent conveyor project with a food processor. 

The Challenge

The end user, a manufacturer of popcorn, made significant investments in a new popcorn popper to increase the production capacity, but quickly realized there was a bottleneck at the packaging machines with their existing bucket elevators. After investing in a new popcorn popper, the manufacturer discovered a bottleneck in their packaging line that prevented them from running at full production capacity. 

While the new popper increased capacity, the existing bucket elevators created a bottleneck that limited the manufacturer’s continuous improvement goals. They reduced overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) on the packaging line and were difficult to clean and maintain, preventing the plant from reaching full production potential.

The Solution

Dynamic Conveyor, working closely with Troy Industrial, developed a DynaClean vertical Z conveyor solution that allowed the customer to increase packaging capacity, optimize production flow, and maintain the footprint of their existing bucket elevators. The new system ensured smooth handling of packaging materials while improving sanitation and cleanability. Additionally, the DynaClean conveyor supports preventative maintenance efforts, reducing downtime and easing the workload for the maintenance team.
